There are many ways to use a noren. In Japan, they are used at the entrance to apartments or shops when you want to hide the interior from the doorway.
It can also be used to partition spaces even in the absence of a door, or to hide shelves or storage.
The design is printed on polyester with a linen-like texture. The fabric itself is dyed.
It is loosely woven, allowing the silhouette of a person on the other side of the noren curtain to be seen through the fabric.
